Facilitating missions have good results . . .
1. The
missionary lives with the people
2. The missionary begins a a learner
3. Natives initiate and design the ministry. The missionary
facilitates them.
4. The missionary does not exceed native resources, thus whatever
is started can easily continue if he leaves.
5. The missionary learns to use native teaching and learning style.
6. The missionary is not the pastor, but encourages, helps, and
teaches native pastors.
7. The missionary does not pass judgment, but points to the Word of
God as the guide.
8. The missionary learns the language and the culture.
9. Bonding takes place so that the missionary does not lack
fellowship, and is not isolated.
10. The missionary wants to present the Gospel through the culture
as normal and right for that culture, without compromising the Gospel. This
requires a great deal of time, humility, and understanding.
11. The missionary humbly relates within the social framework of
the culture.
12. The missionary does not need programs or buildings, but seeks
relationship so that he will be in a position to facilitate however he can.
13. The missionary believes in the people.
14. There is a partnership with the people.
15. The result is an indigenous church.
Missionaries are called to help the natives plant indigenous
churches.
