Prayer Points for the Persecuted Church

  • Pray for those who lost their homes, food, water, income and have no way to provide for their families. (Matthew 6:32-34)

  • Pray for those who are imprisoned to be comforted in their loneliness and despair. 
    (Psalm 139:7-12)

  • Pray for the brothers and sisters who are trying to find forgiveness for their oppressors. (Acts 7:60)

  • Pray for those that have been taken into slavery, that their conduct would glorify the Lord and also pray for freedom to return to their families. (Titus 2:9-10)

  • Pray for the leaders of the persecuted church, that they may fulfill their God-given responsibilities. (1 Peter 5:1-4; 1 Timothy 3:1-10)

  • Pray that the Christians in circumstances of suffering will band together in the face of fear. (1 Peter 4:7-11)

  • Pray for those of us who have religious freedom will understand what it means to suffer with other members of the worldwide church who do not. 
    (1 Corinthians 12:26)   

  • Pray for those who oppress Christians, that they may experience repentance and salvation, just as Saul/Paul did. (Acts 8:3; 9:1-19)

  • Pray for the provision of Bibles and other Christian literature to reach the most remote and needy areas. (Psalm 119:42-43)

  • Thank the Lord for the faithful witness of all who suffer on account of the name of Jesus Christ.
    (Colossians 1:24-29)

  • Pray for those of us who have religious freedom will remember and pray for our Christian family worldwide who do not. (Hebrews 13:3)

  • Pray for the leaders in Democratic countries to have the boldness and courage to speak out and make changes in the name of the Lord on the behalf of the persecuted believers. (Proverbs 31:8-9)

  • Pray that those who suffer tremendous physical pain and trials will be delivered by the Lord from their agony. (2 Corinthians 1:9-11)
