Happy Father’s Day to all the dads!! Thanks!

The President’s Corner … Curt Webb

For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” Heb 4:15-16.

Sometimes you may feel like the LORD doesn’t know what you are going through or you may feel like you are the only one going through “it”. However, the scriptures tell us that Jesus Christ was tempted in ALL points as you are, yet did not sin. And whenever the Bible says all, it means ALL. Not only was Jesus Christ tempted, but was tempted to the Nth degree; that is, He was tempted to a degree that you will probably never be tempted. It seems like the more one resists temptation, the stronger the temptation becomes.

Well, no matter how strong the temptation, you can go to Jesus Christ because He can sympathize with what you are going through. Jesus Christ is a living Savior, not a dead one. He knows what you are going through and what you need. Even if you sin, as 1 John 1:9 says, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness”. Of course, with confession comes repentance. Once you confess sin to the LORD, you must turn from it with the help and power of God’s Holy Spirit and stay focused on Christ.

So, go boldly to God’s throne of grace with whatever your needs are. God loves you, wants the best for you, and wants to fellowship with you.

Arizona … Curt Webb

We have another work party in Tuba City, AZ scheduled for the weekend of Thurs June 25 – Sun June 28, 2009. We plan on finishing the barbed wire fence at Coal Mine Canyon and help with the new Church and Fellowship Hall buildings at Tuba City. Pastor Hal Corbett is having a Church Dedication on June 13th for those who would like to attend.

Please be in prayer for this event with us and call for more information if you would like to attend. We need construction laborers of all skill levels. Come out and lend a hand using the gifts that the LORD has given you. For more information, our contact number is 714-979-2415.

Also, we are planning Inductive Bible Study (IBS) classes here in Orange County over the next couple months using the IBS material developed by Pastor Dan Finfrock from Intensive Care Ministries. Pastor Dan teaches this material all over the world and has taught some of our Native American Pastors and Leaders on the Navajo/Hopi Reservations. We want to make this Bible study material available to anyone locally who wants to learn more about how to study the Bible.

Here us what will you learn at these classes: How to break down difficult passages of scripture into "bite size" pieces. How accurate observation of a text clarifies Scriptures and makes the Word come alive! How to develop study tools for effective interpretation and application. How to make simple outlines of entire books of the Bible for easier learning and teaching. How to chart a text once it is outlined to further break text apart and see it's depth. How to teach the Bible in a way that others can follow.

For more information, our contact number is 714-979-2415.

Membership … Julene Webb

Thank you Pastor Dan Finfrock and Ed Sanabia of Intensive Care Ministries!
Thank you Pastor Stan Belinte for hosting the class at your beautiful church!

In May Pastor Dan taught his inductive bible study course to local Pastors in Bita Hochee, AZ. We received requests for more teaching at other churches in Northern
Arizona and we look forward to working along side our friends in the field. To enable us to teach more often and in more
locations, Pastor Dan and Curt Webb are planning some “inductive bible study – training the teacher” courses locally in Southern California. We will keep you posted as this exciting opportunity unfolds.

Pastor Dan shared some tremendous stories with us about his ministry during breakfast one morning. I also learned that he has written a new book which includes these stories and more. If you would like a copy for yourself or to learn more about his ministry, you may visit www.icmbible.org.

A big thank you to Calvary Chapel of Costa Mesa for supporting us on this trip as well! We truly appreciate your coming along side us J

Hyder, AZ … Hank & Bobbi Rowell

We have been very busy at Hyder. April 30 was Children's day. We had 56 that attended the event. We had all kinds of games for all that were there. Every body got a gift.. After three hours of games and fun we were ready to send everyone on there way A large horse trailer came into the driveway, pulled to the rear of the church. The children and adults were surprised to see a load of miniature pony's. The children took another hour before calling it a day. What fun.

Mothers Day

Mothers day was May 7. Martha and Raul had come early and had the church and tables decorated so nicely. There were flowers for all the mothers and also a gift bag full of things. It was A joy to see how the children served the food and waited in everyone, even the men.

Women's Conference

For the last two years the women from Hyder and Tacna have gone to Phoenix to attend a women's conference. They stay in a nice place. They have everything at there finger tips. Well the ladies in Phoenix called and they want to have this years conference in Hyder. They were told they would have to shower outside, sleep on the floor and there is only one restroom. They ladies replied, We can put a sign on the men's and use the men's bathroom, The dates are June 12-13-14. Please pray with us that this will go well.

Meeting With The County

At the last general meeting I told you about the building project we want to do at Hyder. We want to add on to the church a 40 x 50 multi-use building or room. Basket ball court. Baseball and soccer. We met with the county and they seemed to be shocked that there was anything going on out there. The county said they would work with us anyway they can. Please pray with us as we will need many things when the work starts. The architect is working with students from Cibola High School. They said they should have plans at the end of May or the first part of June.
