Christian Missionary Pilots works with small churches, and missionaries, that are points of light in a very dark world; their ‘size’ isn’t as important as the fact that they are obeying God’s call to ‘go’ … our calling is to assist them in ‘staying’ and ‘shining’ …
President’s Corner …
Curtis DeVore
Reviewing my years of
ministry with CMP, something I recall often is a phrase that was drummed into my
mind by my first pastor, Wayne Frase. This was at Peninsula Baptist Church in
Palos Verdes California many years ago. Wayne used to repeat this phrase often
from the pulpit. As I pondered these two words it seems the Lord kept
reinforcing their significance in Christian service. I’ve seen it played out in
every work of CMP. It is… “Commitment and Faithfulness”, “Commitment and Faithfulness”. This was repeated
on purpose so that it might be a part of your thinking as well. You see it’s
Commitment and Faithfulness that get’s the job done. What job am I referring to?
Advancing God’s
Kingdom. This is our calling and commission by the Lord! Supporting missionaries
in the field in many ways or serving in support at home base.
This is what
Christian Missionary Pilots is all about; why we labor together in love for the
Lord, and each other. Some times serving the Lord is fun but more often, it’s
continual plodding, sacrifice of time and sticking to a job or project until
completed.
It’s showing up for
meetings and volunteering your time and talent…or learning! It might be signing
up for a mission trip or taking on the responsibility to cover a certain area of
ministry with one of our committees; It can be flying, driving or visitation.
Let these two words become a part of you and you’ll know joy
and fulfillment in His service. (The real upside of all of this is you’ll enjoy
rewards in heaven as well).
The board will be meeting Friday February 17th at 7:30PM at the
Warehouse Conference Room. All members of CMP are welcome to attend. If you have
an interest in leadership we would encourage you to set in and observe and see
if the Lord would like to use you in this area of ministry. If you just want to
observe, that’s ok too…

We are currently
working on the 2012 Missionary Conference and are looking for people to help
plan and participate in the event.
We will be meeting at the Webb residence on Friday, Feb 3, 2012 to discuss and
plan details. The Missionary
Conference is being planned for the last weekend in May and is where we bring
the Missionaries together in one location so that we can minister to them, they
can minister to us, and the LORD ministers to everyone.
Please consider using the gifts that the LORD has given you to assist in
this endeavor.
Also, we are in
process of planning various trips and work parties throughout the year.
Please be in prayer as we seek the LORD’s direction for these events.
Please let us know how you would like to participate.
You can the warehouse number at 714-979-2415 to leave a message and
receive additional information.
Hyder …
Hank & Bobbi Rowell
The January 21st work day was
fantastic, We got the bathroom fixtures all in thanks to Andy and Brian who
spent a full week working at Hyder. All the fans got put up, The air
conditioners are in and working, The water heater in and working, all sinks and
cabinets are in, all the inside and out got painted, even the sign out front.
The septic tank is in and working.
All this was accomplished only
because of your prayers. Yes He does answer prayer. Next is the handicap
parking, sidewalk and the approach , this will be in cement. We need to tile the
showers and are in need of tiles. Please pray that God will again provide our
needs. I will try to be at the February 18 meeting. If you miss this
meeting you will have missed a wonderful meeting. Charley Harley will be there
along with a video of Gods work in Hyder. Mark your calendar now.

Committee …

The Membership
Committee is excited to announce the CMP 2011 Year In Review Dinner and Silent
Auction on Saturday April 21, 2012 from 6:00p – 8:00p.
This event will replace the usual General Meeting on Saturday morning.
The purpose of this event is to show what
the LORD has done through CMP during last year and give the Membership an
opportunity to come together and fellowship with one another.
We’ll be having an awesome dinner, a silent auction with exciting items,
a DVD presentation of the 2011 activities, and great fellowship.
The proceeds from the silent auction will go to help fund the Missionary
Conference and other events CMP has slated for 2012.
We are looking to have the event at the CCCM Fellowship Hall, but we are
still working on the final details of the location.
So please mark your calendar, please pray for the event, and we’ll see
you there!

We have already received a number of renewal checks for the year 2012 and our drive usually runs for four months, January through April. Paid up members are voting members. We have some friends and members who send a check monthly some by a designated bank but don’t care to commit to membership…that’s ok. We just want to know your preference. If you’ll send along the cut out “CMP Contact Form” below in the enclosed return envelope we’ll know your preference. If your not sure whether you have already been covered, call one of our board officers and we’ll let you know.
